Private Tours
Growing up in Citrus County, Florida, the springs were my backyard. I spent most of my childhood in and around those waters, and that connection never left.
I got my start as a kayak tour guide in Crystal River, where my curiosity pushed me deeper than the tours themselves. I read every scientific and research article I could find on Florida's spring systems, wildlife, and ecosystems, turning a job I loved into a genuine education. In 2021 I founded Ecoventure Tours to bring that passion to the public and to advocate for the protection of Florida's freshwater ecosystems.
I am thrilled to now be offering personal private tours, wildlife photography tours, and full day photography workshops alongside Ecoventure Tours. My passion for wildlife photography has grown tremendously over the last two years and I cannot wait to share that with people. Every one of these experiences is guided personally by me and kept intentionally small so you walk away with something real, whether that is a deeper understanding of Florida's natural areas or a new set of skills behind the camera.
TOUR RATES
Every tour is guided personally by Josh and kept intentionally small — a maximum of 4 guests — so each experience stays intimate, unhurried, and genuinely focused on the wildlife and ecosystems around you. All tours operate under Ecoventure Tours permits and insurance.
A note on timing: Tour times are completely flexible and up to you, but early morning and late afternoon are strongly recommended. Crowds are thinner, temperatures are cooler, and wildlife is at its most active. Mid-day tends to bring heat, foot traffic, and less wildlife — worth keeping in mind when planning.
