About the event

This unique experience takes place on the east coast of central Florida, just outside Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. The bioluminescence here is some of the best in the United States, and seeing it firsthand is truly unforgettable.

We'll meet at Parrish Park between 6:45–7:00pm and launch our paddle craft no later than 7:30pm (sunset is at 7:34pm). From there, we'll paddle north through the Indian River Lagoon to Horseshoe Crab Island. The island's east side blocks out light pollution and faces the nature preserve, giving us the best chance at seeing the bioluminescence at its brightest. Once we arrive, we'll spend time hanging out, exploring the island for critters, and swimming in the glowing blue water.

This paddle is generally pretty easy, but can become more difficult on windy evenings. I will be sure to communicate with you guys regarding conditions in the group chat as we get closer…
